A moment a day keeps the Dr away (#4)

You were put here for a reason. Let’s continue the journey noticing life’s moments, and turn all your moments of the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Mindfulness moment 4. Go for a walk in nature

Be aware of your surroundings as you walk. What are you stepping on? Can you feel the earth beneath your feet? What does it feel like?

What colours can you see?

Make a game if you like: count all the shades of colour that are not green or brown.

Take a deep breath through your nose. What can you smell?

Can you access a beach, forest, or maybe a mountain for your walk? Find some flowers to smell? A fallen leaf to crunch?

If the weather is not exactly how you would like it, all you have to do is dress appropriately, you don’t have to tell yourself narratives about what it means, just be there.

Images left to right: Wallaby in brush, Tasmania Australia; The Twelve Apostles limestone stacks by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia; Dirt track in woodland with shrubs, Australia.

No matter your path, don’t miss it’s beauty.

  1. What a wonderful post. To take the time to stop and smell the roses, or just be in the moment is so important. I use these times to reflect on things too. Great photos, my favorite is the rainbow! ❤️
Happy holidays to you and your family!! ❤️😀
