Each moment counts – observe a thunderstorm (#9)

You were put here for a reason. Let’s continue the journey noticing life’s moments, and turn all your moments of the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Mindfulness moment 9. Observe a thunderstorm.

Listen – what can you hear? Is the wind howling? Is the thunder loud?

Watch the sky light up with lightning flashes. What colours and shapes can you see? Can you capture the lightning in a photo?

If you can, count the seconds between the flash of lightning and the clap of thunder. Is the storm getting closer?

What do you smell? Is the rain cleaning everything and bringing a fresh smell?

Touch the rain if it is safe to do so. Can you feel it on your face or hands? Is it cold? Try and ‘catch’ a rain drop. Can you taste one?

After the storm passes…watch for the rainbow! What colours do you see?

Each moment brings a new possibility.

Sit for a moment and notice the beauty, the storm will pass no matter your thoughts.

  1. We had a thunderstorm this last weekend! It does bring so much clarity, when you think about it. I love this post! I try to stop and smell the roses, enjoy a flower blooming or feel the rain drops on my face!! Have a wonderful week! ❤️

  2. I love thunderstorms – provided I’m not flying through them 😂. They always serve as a reminder that nature is to be respected. Great post Kellie and beautiful images. Wishing you well 🙏
