Each moment counts – Lie back and count the stars (#12)

You were put here for a reason. Let’s continue the journey noticing life’s moments, and turn all your moments of the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Mindfulness moment 12. Lie back and count the stars.

How many stars can you see?

Are some brighter than others? What colours do you notice?

How far away do you think each of the stars are from Earth?

Can you make a picture with the stars, like joining a dot to dot puzzle?

Are there any signs of movement in the sky? A shooting star, or a plane?

What does the ground feel like on your back? Do you feel connected to the Universe right now, spinning in outer space?

Each moment brings a new possibility.

Look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.

  1. Lovely! One of the great joys of camping is star gazing and pondering the complexities of the Universe. Mind you, I do that at home too! 💫

  2. Lucky you if you can see the stars. When I was a child my bedroom window faced north and I knew all the constellations that circle near the pole. Now living in a city, with street lighting and houses so close together, I can see so few stars that I can hardly recognise any constellations. Really miss seeing the stars.

      1. I can see the moon when it is high enough (subject to the British weather of course) but I am afraid, I have largely given up on sky gazing. Probably a shame, maybe I should make the most of clear nights.

  3. Beautiful photos and I love staring at a starry night especially camping. It does make one wonder, we are so tiny on this huge planet! Each moment does count or at least we should try and make it count. Happy star gazing! ❤️⭐✨
